Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Endorses Robin Anderson for Labor Commissioner
I am a little too busy to post a full length and interesting blog with lots of insightful commentary.
But, this is the press release.
Today Robin Anderson, Democratic candidate for Labor Commissioner, announced her endorsement by the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
“I am honored by their vote of confidence. As Commissioner of Labor I’ll fight to protect working families across North Carolina.” Anderson promised the group, “You will see me on the floor of factories across the state, working for hardworking North Carolina families and companies that play by the rules.”
Robin Anderson is a candidate for N.C. Labor Commissioner. She has 18 years of experience as an employment attorney. As Chair of the State Personnel Commission she oversees workplace policy for nearly 100,000 state employees. Anderson began her career in public service in 1979 as an intern for Congressman John Conyers, a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Robin’s experience with Congressman Conyers inspired her to attend law school and focus on protecting working families.
The Black Political Caucus is committed to providing political education to the Charlotte- Mecklenburg Community. They are focused on issues that serve and protect African Americans. The Caucus has served as the political voice of the African American Community in Charlotte for over 40 years.
There really arent enough words to express how happy I am about this endorsement. People from Charlotte can give more details about how influential they are, but the Black Political Caucus works extremely hard reaching out to voters, and we are very proud to have their support.

The Black Political Caucus of C-M is doing a good job managing its endorsement agenda. Others should watch how they're doing what they do ... and copy them.
Agreed.
For instance, PDNC has been a non-entity since endorsing Dan Besse. Where's the follow-up?

I know this isn't the question your asking but . . .
. . . they've got a new blog

Congratulations Robin!
(and Will)
This is a very powerful endorsement in our neck of the woods especially in a presidential primary year and especially now that our primary actually matters. If the Obama campaign does in this area what it has done in other states and turns out new voters/first-time voters in unprecedented numbers, you will wind up with many uninformed (not intended in a negative way) voters at the polls. For those who don't know, the BPC puts together an endorsement sheet and passes it out at community centers, barbershops, etc. and at the polls. Imagine all those new voters who might not have had a chance to learn about the local races - imagine them getting an endorsement sheet from a trusted source.
This is not an easy endorsement to get and it means a lot. You should be proud to have their support.
