Lt Gov Beverly Perdue speaks in Charlotte

Lt. Governor Beverly Perdue spoke in Charlotte this week. She was delightful. I was certainly impressed.

Last weekend I attended an event that was also attended by US Congressional Candidate for the 9th District, Harry Taylor. This video includes the clips from that event.

Campaign America Video and website back up

Although this really isn't a Fourth of July video, it does give the uplifting feeling of the Fourth. However, it is a video of John Edwards' message of America's moral authority to lead the world. It leaves us ready to campaign.

We don't have fish fries like this.

I grew up in the south where fish fries were almost a ritual and I cut my baby teeth on hush puppies. But, last Friday night was a new experience for me.

John Edwards - Touching America's Heart Strings Video

John Edwards has always reminded me of Bobby Kennedy...the beloved Kennedy. And, of course, Elizabeth is a darling in her own right. For a while I have had this video stirring inside me and one day on DK I mentioned the similarities between JRE and RFK. Apparently, it wasn't the first time she'd heard that and she agreed.

After many hours of work, it 'jelled' and here it is. I hope you like it. BTW, NC's own Larry Kissell is briefly in the video too. I will post it as a link because I'm not sure how to get the on screen video up on this site. If anyone else knows and cares to enlighten me, I will gladly edit it. Thanks.

Blue is blue, right?

Like all of you, I have been living for the day when North Carolina and the nation would 'go blue'. That's not just a sports statement in NC, but a political statement too.

Recently, I have been working as Chair of the South Carolina for Edwards Group (counterpart to our North Carolina for Edwards Group) since I live near the state line and it is quite convenient and I enjoy doing it. I have recently completed a website for our group SC for Edwards and http://www.southcarolinacampaign2008.com whereby I used a blind forward on a second Domain name in an effort to pick up more traffic.

Now, I have been rather pleasantly surprised at the number of 'Blues' I have met in SC and like the rest of us in the country for the past six years they have been pretty much in hiding. One person even told me that she no longer had anything with the colors red, white and blue as she didn't want to be confused with a conservative. I responded that I refused to allow them to dictate my patriotism and had taken several 'subversive' measures to 'in your face them' when they tried.

State approved insanity - the DMV

Recently it became my turn to submit to the torture treatment administered by the Department of Motor Vehicles and renew my Driver's License. I know there are horror stories statewide and we've all heard them. I will tell my short story and make my suggestion (although they didn't ask) which if taken literally could save good drivers a lot of needless stress and free up time for emphasis to be placed on the bad drivers.
