Hypocrisy - Liddy Style
Submitted by Gordon Smith on Wed, 05/21/2008 - 11:34ambrownsox over at Daily Kos makes a nice catch.
"You can agree to not run advertising targeting Senator Dole during the 2008 election cycle as well as encourage your Senate nominee and national parties to abstain from third party advertisements," Mark Stephens, Dole's chief campaign strategist, said in a letter today to [Jerry] Meek."
brownsox goes on,
"So, let me get this straight; former NRSC chairwoman Elizabeth Dole, whose very job description put her in charge of steering national money to Senate races around the country in 2006, and running NRSC ads in those states...the same Elizabeth Dole who spent millions of NRSC dollars attacking Jon Tester, Jim Webb, Sheldon Whitehouse and Sherrod Brown...is now asking that the national parties stay out of her race?"
Charlotte Observer Headline: Did Dems Avoid Gay Candidate?
Submitted by James Protzman on Sun, 11/18/2007 - 11:27amIt's funny that the Charlotte Observer bills this story as an exclusive given how much it has been debated and discussed around here, but I suppose it's better late than never. And perhaps now that it has been finally covered by the mainstream media, the issue may be finally put to rest.
Former Wall Street investor Jim Neal of Chapel Hill announced he was running for the U.S. Senate. N.C. Sen. Kay Hagan of Greensboro declared a week later that she was not running for the U.S. Senate. Both are Democrats. Guess which one received a phone call from U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, who heads the Democratic Party's efforts to recruit Senate candidates?

Submitted by Blue South on Wed, 03/21/2007 - 4:20pmFor those who missed it, Chuck Schumer came to DailyKos asking for names to recruit for Senate. This isnt much different from what Jerry Meek did a few months ago. But, included in his post was this small link.
So, you want Brad Miller to run for Senate? You want the DSCC to help out? Contact them.
