In the pilot public financing program for Council of State offices, the State Board of Elections has certified that Wayne Goodwin has met the qualifications for public financing as the Democratic Party's nominee.

Here is a brief update on my campaign for Insurance Commissioner campaign. I'll be providing more occasional updates as time goes by. Starting in mid-May, nonpartisan, political and insurance industry organizations have all been hosting or scheduling fora or informal debates for voters to meet the candidates for Insurance Commissioner.

In a very short period of time between my filing and May 6th we were able to stress why the 2008 Democratic Primary for NC Insurance Commissioner should be on everyone's political radar. Playing a significant role were the blog posts, BlueNC's Live Blog, and the recent BlueNC Blogger Bash.

And with your individual roles in my campaign, as well as the dialog among the BlueNC community, we were able to get out my campaign message and win 56% of the Statewide vote!

Wayne Goodwin Receives Endorsement from The Independent Weekly; Indy Questions Smith's independence from the insurance industry

The Independent Weekly trusts Wayne Goodwin and endorsed him for Insurance Commissioner. However, Indy does not trust Goodwin's opponent, David Smith, and had a serious concern about Smith's work on behalf of the insurance industry and how it may affect Smith's judgment if Smith is elected Insurance Commissioner.
