Give me a Constitutional Law Prof any day

Sarah Palin sure knows how to deliver a speech, but are we willing to look at the content embedded in her rousing delivery?

Palin may be no Dick Cheney in that she's less likely to be a behind-the-scenes puppetmaster than he has been for the past eight years, but Palin does pull McCain toward the dark side in several ways.

New poll--Hagan 50, Dole 45; McCain 47, Obama 44; Perdue-McCrory tied at 46

Very good news from a new poll by Democracy Corps. On the Senate side, Kay Hagan leads for the first time in any credible statewide poll, while the presidential and gubernatorial races are still touching-me close.

On the Senate side, Hagan leads Liddy Dole by five points, 50-45. On the presidential side, McCain leads Obama, 47-44. On the governor's side, Bev Perdue and Pat McCrory are in a flat-footed tie, 46 percent apiece.

The Republican National Convention Electrified by Drama & Scandal

If the Republicans aimed to send out a strong campaign message during their convention about "McCain the Maverick," it’s not getting through. It isn’t Hurricane Gustav that's drowning out the convention message but the Alaskan pipeline of information on Sarah Palin.

The surprise Vice Presidential pick McCain announced just three days ago is generating headlines that read like a bad script from Desperate Housewives:

Vice-President makes obvious, John McCain has no interest in putting "Country First." Unless, I suppose, that you think McCain actually believes that the barely removed mayor of a hamlet in Alaska is the most qualified Republican to be one beat away from his 72 year old heart and the presidency.
