NC-10 - Pat's in a Panic

Rep. Patrick McHenry (R) pre-empted an embarrassing cash-on-hand tie with his unknown general election opponent late last month, loaning his campaign $175,000 on June 30, the last day of the quarter.

DCCC Comes to NC

The DCCC is coming to play in North Carolina, with a radio spot targeting McHenry and Hayes for their continued support of giving more and more tax breaks to oil companies while working Americans can barely afford gas.

30 Hours Left to Help Daniel Johnson

Earlier in the week I put up something about Daniel Johnson and Democrats Work. Well we are down to the wire, and you can make a difference!

McHenry's Missing Money

Bring media attention to NC-10

The first round votes have been counted and we are down to the final five!

Thousands and thousands of people cast first round votes in "Serve with the General" - the contest that will send General Wes Clark to one lucky Congressional District to participate in a community service project. The race to get into the final round was extremely close!

Now it is time to pick from the final five districts: Washington's 8th (Darcy Burner), California's 4th (Charlie Brown), North Carolina's 10th (Daniel Johnson), Colorado's 4th (Betsy Markey), or Minnesota's 3rd (Ashwin Madia).

Click here to cast your final round vote!

(Every district starts back at zero votes for the final round, so make sure you cast a final round vote.)

You get to decide where Democrats will roll up their sleeves at a community service event with General Clark this summer.

So cast your vote today! The final round of voting ends this Friday, June 6th, at 12:00 midnight eastern time.

Thank you for your participation and for putting your Democratic values into action. Spread the word!

Put Daniel Johnson Over The Top

The voting is down to the Final 5 and Daniel Johnson made the cut. Lets put him over the top and get General Wesley Clark in North Carolina for some real work.

Wes Clark to work with Daniel Johnson or Larry Kissell?

Wes Clark will be joining a Democrats Work community service project this summer, and Democrats Work and WesPAC are running a contest to decide who will Serve with the General.

Thousands of people have already voted, but voting is so close that as of this morning North Carolina's 17th district has only 17 votes separating it from moving on to the next round!

North Carolina's 8th district is also in the top 10, and either district could be just one push away from winning it all!

On Friday, the top 5 vote getting districts will move on to the final round.

If you would like to meet Gen. Clark, or to help bring him to North Carolina to serve on a community project, cast your vote here.

Serve With The General - Vote Now

Today, the WesPAC and Democrats Work communities launched a contest to determine which Congressional District General Wes Clark is going to visit this summer.

This won’t be an ordinary visit. General Clark will travel to one Congressional District where a Democratic challenger is fighting to change the direction of our country to work side-by-side with area Democrats to make a positive impact through community service. We want you to tell us where we should put our values into action.

You can cast your vote here: www.DemocratsWork.org.

McHenry accuses Johnson of being an "insider" again, Linda Daves (See: Obama ad) makes petty attacks

Looks like McHenry's playing the only card he knows how: raising hell about "Democrats in Washington". Tonight's flavor? McHenry, using Linda Daves (who has met me and knows I think she's as shallow as a puddle of water in the street) as a squawkbox for his patent brand of bull, screaming about how Congressional candidate Daniel Johnson is lying about claiming his bags are not packed with Washington money.

Wait, are you kidding me? Patrick McHenry is behind this? The man known for lining his pockets with more Washington money (and spending that said money more frivolously) than virtually any other politician in the state? Wow.

McHenry's PAC Paid for Lay's Defense

Remember Michael Aaron Lay? He's Pat McHenry's former roomie and staffer who committed voter fraud in the 2004 primary McHenry only won by 86, no, 85 votes.

In August Lay got a "deferred prosecution." If he pays a fine, does 100 hours of community service and stays out of trouble, he'll never be charged. Nice lawyering, if you can afford it. Apparently, Lay didn't have to pay the bill. McHenry's PAC did.

It looks like our Pat is not so conservative when it comes to the interpretation of "political action."

McHenry Endangers Troops, Then Blames Them

Pat posted a video that violated security, people died, he took it down.

Now he says nobody told him not to . . . but the Pentagon says otherwise.

Vote Vets calls for censure. I'd like a Congressional investigation.

NC-10 Strawpoll Rally

McHenry Violates Green Zone Military Security

A summation of the whole bragging, pandering, lameass debacle.

Use this (and thoreau's post) to write a letter to the editor to at least one newspaper serving NC's 10th District. Unless you're on-line (and many in the 10th are not), you probably have no idea what Pat's been up to lately. We can write and link and blog and comment, but unless we get into the local press, Republicans who might bge quite happy with Daniel Johnson won't even know McHenry needs to be replaced. Scroll to the bottom of the post for links to most 10th District newspapers that have websites.

Wanna weekend retreat with Pat McHenry?

There's a whole list of treats if you and your life partner shell out $9200 for his "Victory Club." No word on what you get if he loses.
