Hypocrisy - Liddy Style

brownsox over at Daily Kos makes a nice catch.

"You can agree to not run advertising targeting Senator Dole during the 2008 election cycle as well as encourage your Senate nominee and national parties to abstain from third party advertisements," Mark Stephens, Dole's chief campaign strategist, said in a letter today to [Jerry] Meek."

brownsox goes on,

"So, let me get this straight; former NRSC chairwoman Elizabeth Dole, whose very job description put her in charge of steering national money to Senate races around the country in 2006, and running NRSC ads in those states...the same Elizabeth Dole who spent millions of NRSC dollars attacking Jon Tester, Jim Webb, Sheldon Whitehouse and Sherrod Brown...is now asking that the national parties stay out of her race?"

Bill Graham choses loser to run campaign

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

You know things are falling apart in the Party of Greed when an aspiring gubernatorial candidate has to scrape the bottom of the competency barrel to find help with his hapless campaign.

From the Charlotte Observer.

Salisbury lawyer Bill Graham says he is not officially running for the Republican nomination for governor, but he now has an unofficial campaign strategist. Brian Nick, a veteran of Sen. Elizabeth Dole's office and of national Republican politics, has signed on as a senior adviser to Graham's N.C. Conservatives United.

It's not my fault

You have to hand it to the Party of Greed, they're still operating as though nothing is ever anyone's fault. Like feckless fools, they stand by and watch their Republican colleagues systematically destroy America's reputation in the world, all the while claiming, "it's not my fault." Things just "happen" to them, they are not responsible for anything.

And if you don't believe me, just ask Liddy Dole. She's quoted extensively in Barbara Barrett's interview in O-No! today.

Now, after two years in the Senate's GOP leadership, Dole tumbles into the minority -- back to her status as freshman senator from North Carolina and, perhaps, out of favor among Republican activists frustrated at election results. Dole is satisfied with her performance.

Where in the world is Liddy Dole? And what was she thinking?!

Liddy Dole, who might have trouble finding North Carolina on a map, was in Montana this week schlepping for someone almost as shady as "Chainsaw" Charlie Taylor: Senator Conrad Burns. If you read Kos, you probably know he was the #1 benefactor of Abramoff money and Time named him one of the worst Senators in the US. He looks like a loser this year and Liddy was trying to save his sinking campaign. Even worse is that she was defending and dismissing his racially insensitive remarks. She called criticism of Burns "a silly thing."I can't even paraphrase this nonsense, so read the story here.

Empty Gestures, Empty Promises from Empty Wig

Senator Elizabeth Dole, R-NC, has proven that she stinks at raising money for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, so she's giving diplomacy a try. Chances are, her lack of sincerity is going to cause her some troubles in her new endeavor.

Dole and the NRSC Stoop Even Lower

Pam Spaulding from Pam's House Blend has a great find. The NRSC (National Republican Senatorial Campaign) which boasts my Senator, Elizabeth Dole, as its leader has a new web site to smear Rep. Harold Ford from Tennessee. Pam has pictures from the 'Big Pimpin' web site, and you have to see it to believe it. This news follows my post about a campaign to intimidate money out of unsuspecting voters. Just how low will she go?

NRSC Fundraising Scheme Has Potential to Intimidate Elderly

Earlier today I went out to my mailbox to get our mail. I saw a very official looking envelope that had printed "Return Enclosed" at the bottom as if it were a tax return. While it was addressed to my husband, we commonly open each other's mail if it has to do with taxes. It wasn't until I pulled out the contents of the envelope that I realized it was a fundraiser. My blood started to boil.

Elizabeth Dole sent out an NRSC fundraiser intentionally disguised as a "Return" and sent to "U.S. Individual Resident". Upon a quick second look I did see that the return address had the American Eagle and Elizabeth Dole's name at the top of the envelope. Someone else might honestly think that this was an official notification from the government. Especially, an elderly person or a new registrant who hasn't been politically active in the past.
