These women......and the guys too
As democrats take a long hard look at these women [and the men] we have running as our candidates. They are quality people, one and all, and we should be proud to have them carrying the banner of our party.
As a county party chair I have had a chance to work with almost all of them over the last year. They are to a person great folks that care about the people of this state and their lot in life. They are kind and concerned about this state, and are willing to take the time and efford to move this state forward.
I have had the honor of hosting many of these candidates at events in my county and surrounding counties in Eastern North Carolina. They are, to the man or woman, people of substance. They are people that are willing to work for the good of the state and her people.
There are times when, as democrats, we don't agree with everything a candidate says or does, but we must look at the whole picture, add the pluses and the minuses. When you do that with this group of people you end up with a very high score.
Besides the Council of State Candidates, and the US Senate candidate, always remember the judges. Their campaigns are just as important as any and they are often forgotten.
September is fast approching and the election will be in full swing very quickly now. It will do no good to win the White House if you lose the State House or don't dominate the Council of State. If we have bad judges, we are all at risk. Be ready to work for these fine people that have put themselves forward on your behalf.
Invite them to your towns and communities, they will come if they can. They will speak to and excite your local voters.
It is my honor to work for this statewide slate of candidates. They are good, wise people that represent my values and my views.
It is time to get onboard the train and help drive it to victory in November.
If you would like to invite a candidate to your area and don't have contact information, please e-mail me at
chairman@carteretdemocrats.org
and I will put you intouch with the people you need to speak with.
I am an old Hillary supporter, new to the Obama campaign, but what is it that the Senator says?

It's time to stop whining about who we don't have to vote for
We need to get Democrats elected and we need to be vocal enough and active enough in their campaigns so that they see us as a driving force in their success. We get them elected, we take some ownership in their campaigns and then we use our platform here at BlueNC to lobby for what is important to us. In reality, we need them as much as they need us.
Buck Wilde and the Carteret Dems are Terrific!
My hat is off to Buck Wilde and the Carteret Dems for the great job they do for us Council of State candidates!
Buck, in particular, has sounded the trumpet on many, many occasions about how important it is to elect Dems "down ballot" as well.
All too often others give their sole attention to the candidates who have the $10 Million-plus budgets when, in fact, the rest of the folks on the statewide ballot have an equal (or similarly significant) impact on the populace as a whole.
But folks like Buck (and many here at BlueNC) know the value and importance of the whole ticket, including our nonpartisan - yet Democratic - judges.
I am honored to have such a great base of support in Carteret and join my fellow candidates in saluting the work of our good friends on the Crystal Coast!

One Choice
This election is about one thing. Will our country move forward with a strong economy prepared for the educational and energy and other challenges that face us? Or will we continue the same old tactics that have gotten us $4 a gallon gas, $10 billion a month in Iraq and a terrorist that is still at large 7 years after he orchestrated the worst terrorism tragedy we have ever dealt with.
Its Change vs More of the Same all over again.

Amen.

Yes and No
I'm happy that we have a young, SMART, talented Presidential Candidate, one who has run an incredibly savvy campaign. I'm happy that we have candidates who could/should win the Governor/Lt. Governor/Council of State races. Very happy. I'm happy that we have at least one US Congressional Candidate that will replace a current Republican, Go Larry! I'm even happy that we have a competitive US Senate race and have a chance to send Liddy Dole home...errr, even if it is a short trip back to her D.C. apartment.
But, I am believing less and less in "Change" and more and more in "change".
We'll have a much better life with a Dem in the White House, leading the Senate, House, NC Senate, NC House, Governor's Mansion. But, not much is going to change. We might not drill offshore, MIGHT. We might get better health care, but I don't see Universal Health Care. Certainly here in NC it looks like nothing will change since we already control all three seats of power.
Thank you Wayne
It is my pleasure to work with all of you. You and the other COS candidates are what we need to keep moving North Carolina forward.
The judges are just as important as anyone we have on the ballot and we MUST support them and get them or keep them on the bench.
